Our Magnificent Setting
Sitting by the Hudson

A Year-Round Wildlife Panorama
Home Sweet Home's lushly landscaped grounds

From our ubiquitous windows or from our scenic enclosed porch or outdoor patio, you’ll get an intimate view of the daily entourage of exotic birds, herds of deer, and a diverse array of beavers, otters, and other unusual wildlife.

Home Sweet Home sits high on the banks of the western riverfront surrounded by large expanses of groomed grassy grounds and mature landscaping and trees. From its perch high above the river, you can glance north to the impressive Rip Van Winkle Bridge or south toward the beautiful Hudson Valley.

Gazing toward the eastern banks of the Hudson, you can spot Olana, the famous Persian-style mansion home of the Hudson River School artist Frederic Edwin Church, nestled among stately trees and lush greenery. Today, Olana is a New York State Historic Site, a National Historic Landmark, and one of the most popular tourist destinations in New York.

A study of the river offers dazzling lightscapes as the day’s hues change from sunrise to sunset, including passing ships, yachts, sailboats, barges and endless water fowl.
